UPDATE: 30th March 2020

In order to protect staff at the Parish Office, the Parish Offices are closed. One member of staff will attend the offices to deal with telephone enquiries only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings but will not be opening the doors to anyone. Staff will have access to their email accounts remotely and the following message will be given as an automatic response:

During this time of uncertainty, the Play Areas, Parks & Skate-Park are CLOSED. This measure has been taken to keep you safe as well as others. Please, please do not climb over the gate/fence. Please take heed of the government’s guidelines/advice and rules. The sooner we all take heed of this, the sooner we will come through this.


The Parish Council has taken preventative measures to help Residents avoid social contact with each other and to ensure that Parish business is not compromised with either staff having to self-isolate or be absent through illness.

In line with Government guidance Churchdown Parish Council has agreed to take the following action:

  • To suspend all Council / Committee meetings for the foreseeable future.
  • To restrict access to Churchdown Parish Council Office


The Council has implemented its’ emergency powers and has authorised its’ delegated powers to its’ officers in conjunction with its Chairman and Chairman of its’ committees in accordance with the Local Government Act 1972.

It is kindly requested that any business to be conducted with the Parish Office is either by telephone, email or letter where possible to minimise contact with staff members.

If you require urgent assistance and  you do need to make a visit to the office in person, please ring to make an appointment so we can arrange a suitable time and ensure that you are the only visitor to the office at that time.

Votes Recorded Percentage –

  • Number cast in favour of a Yes :1680 91.20%
  • Number cast in favour of a No : 155 8.41%
  • The number of ballot papers rejected was as follows : 7
  • Electorate: 10,532
  • Ballot Papers Issued: 1842
  • The total number of votes recorded represented 17.49% of the registered electorate

Referendum: 12th March 2020

A Referendum relating to the adoption of the Churchdown & Innsworth Neighbourhood Plan is to be held on Thursday 12th March 2020. The question being asked in the Referendum is:

“Do you want Tewkesbury Borough Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Churchdown & Innsworth to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Neighbourhood Plan proceeds to Referendum !

We are delighted to announce that the Churchdown and Innsworth Neighbourhood Plan is now proceeding to Referendum .

The Plan was examined by the Independant Examiner in November 2019. A number of minor changes to a few policies were made – these changes were subsequently approved by Churchdown Parish Council on 10th December 2019 and Innsworth Parish Council on 21st December 2019.

The Plan was conisdered by Tewkesbury Borough Counci Executive Committee on 8th January 2020 . The Plan was approved and indeed commended by the TBC Executive Committee . Churchdown Parish Council sincerely thank all Members of the Steering Group for their diligent and invaluable contribution to the Plan and its success.

We will update you with a date for , and news on the Referendum as soon as possible.

Independant Examination

The Churchdown & Innsworth Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group is delighted to announce that the Neighbourhood Plan has now been through the process of Examination by an Independant Examiner .

A few changes have been made and we hope the revised Plan will proceed to Referendum as soon as possible .

We will advise you of the date as soon as possible.
